GROW THE HELL UP!?!?
Just so you’re all up to date, our McCain*Palin and Charlie Summers for Congress lawn signs (2 of each; we have a long piece of frontage on Route One) were stolen from in front of our house on Wednesday… while we were WORKING at our JOBS, I feel it should be pointed out. I’m debating putting spares (yes, I have spares, and you can see why) in the windows of our porch, but I may be wearing out Susan’s patience for my political outspokenness making us targets. The last thing we need right now is to have to replace windows.
Speaking of which, my stolen car sticker has multiplied into four, (Yes! on 1, Summers for Congress, Susan Collins for Senate, and a new McCain/Palin) but they’re taped to the inside! Yeah, it looks kinda low-budget, using scotch tape and all, but my opinions are protected… behind glass.
Just 2 1/2 more weeks…

I agree. Every American has the right to voice his views. I’ve had my Obama*Biden signs stolen almost daily. I bought in bulk and continue to replace them and have now resorted to putting a camcorder in my window when I’m not home so I can get the theft on film.
I don’t understand why politics can’t be a conversation rather than a rivalry in this country.

Thanks for the comment! Sorry about your signs.
I don’t mind politics being a competition of ideas, and I’m not particularly interested in bipartisanship for its own sake. But to skulk around stealing the symbols of someone else’s political convictions is just cowardly and childish.

I feel your pain. I just had my Obama signs stolen this morning. What gets me is that it must have been an adult, because all the kids were in school at the time.
I don’t care who you support, stealing signs is childish!
Is this what we’ve been reduced to in this country?
P.S. Here’s a tip: I’m coating the sides of my new signs with Vaseline. That should provide a nice surprise for whomever is stealing them!

AH!! Oh, that would be funny! It would almost be worth having the sign stolen to see their expression! I actually just read about a guy who hooked the metal frame to an electric dog fence. Nothing dangerous, just enough juice for a surprise!
Thanks for the comment! I’m reading more and more of these stories. I suppose stealing signs is less socially awkward than actually having to defend your views face to face.
One more day… then I’m taking my signs down myself!!
